Corners of my lips pull up
heavy, tense.
Muscles stiffen.
Jaw tight, chest weighted,
Lump lodged behind my throat,
Surge of the
Sharp edge of consciousness,
Distracted, absent.
Empty.
Gasping, shallow.
Muffled buzzes distort beneath,
The back of my skull drags, the front buzzes faint.
Eye sockets press against tired nerves.
Unfocused, gaze lowered,
Weak,
Drained with unease.
A pair of hands,
Grasping onto my lungs
through these useless ribs.
A burn sears deep in my diaphragm,
A heaviness blooms beneath my eardrums.
Paled fists twitch,
Veins frozen,
Nails driven violently
Into trembling palms,
Rigid,
Hot surge floods
My pulse…
My.
RAGE.
