Puzzle Piece

|

My mind is a puzzle,

But there is a missing piece,

I feel alive but incomplete.

The others they all seem so

Together,

But I just seem to change

With the weather.

I have her eyes and the colour of his hair,

I have their interests and the clothes they wear,

I have things to do and places to be,

But I fall out of place with them and with me.

I sit there and watch,

As the leaves go from green,

To a fiery orange and the birds start to flee.

As the wind’s whisper loudens

And the cicadas sing proud,

I sit there and wonder

About life, aloud.

For right now I may be

Confused and apart

But the future in which

I am whole is not far.

My mind is a puzzle,

But there is a missing piece,

Yet somewhere along the way

I’ll find it,

Waiting for me.
