Reverie of Elysia

|

Excerpt from “Reverie of Elysia’s Discovery” (2103-2112)

The prevailing assumption is that Elysia, if it exists at all, occupies space—a plane of existence either within that in which mortality exists or one outside. Such a hypothesis strikes me as profoundly dubious for ‌scientists of their calibre. Why should paradise obey the laws of space when it is defined exactly by liberation from the very limitations those laws impose? The learned have searched for centuries and returned empty-handed. I see no reason why their failure should prelude my success.

If by time, then one shall wither. If by fate, one shall perish. If by love, let one fall into your warm embrace. But for bliss, one would descend ‌into Lethea. (Unknown Source)

I take considerable exception to this proverb. For an existence in bliss is a gift of the divine; an emancipation from the chains of mortality that bind all earthly things. It is the hand of God reaching down to lift us from the mire of suffering, carrying us beyond the clouds and into the womb of the Mother’s Garden—Eden itself.

If, by the eyes of the divine and the turning of fate’s loom, my Elysia is indeed the true one, then its discovery will only be a matter of reaching the ascendance—not of body but of the mind—until my eyes are bathed in the light of bliss.

It seems the divine have indeed laid their gaze upon a humble servant such as I, who desires nothing more than to enter Elysia and be unburdened by the weight of reality.

The method, as it now presents itself, is not ingestion, nor consumption in any vulgar sense, but a far more delicate application. A clarified infusion derived from Datura stramonium, Nelumbo nucifera, Atropa belladonna, and Prodana ignaviea. Yet none of these are sufficient alone. For if by the eyes reality reveals itself, then by the eyes also, so will my Elysium.

It is my pleasure, oh burdened mass of the world, to unmask the doors to reverie—Reverie of Elysia! For I will now baptise myself in the gift of the divine such that I may, on behalf of the mired and yearning, reach Elysia. During this time, my mind has been interfaced with my computer—my thoughts within the reverie may be transmissible and interpreted for future generations. Let my surrender be the key to freedom, peace, and bliss! And if I do not return, let it be that I have finally arrived.

Complete collection of transmitted knowledge from within ‌Elysia:

[There is… a discrepancy between expectation and observation; I find myself unable to reconcile what I am perceiving…]

[The divine have sent me to… the void?]

[As I move, it seems all is white—not warm like cream nor cold like snow, just a space of nothing. Nothing at all. It’s all gone…]

[Eros? Vita? Mnemosyne? Where are they…]

[Yet this bliss is so… comforting. Without weight, without direction, without distance between thought and existence—there is no longer space as I understand it…]

[And yet I hesitate to call it absence… Perhaps it may be an extension of space…]

[For a place without the concept of space, bliss feels full. As if the expansion of space has assimilated at its center to become a singular plane of existence where everything and nothing exist simultaneously…]

[The proverb… where did it come from… was it a glimpse into the future to warn the past of revelation? If that is true, what have I become…]

[Where am I…]

[My reverie of Elysia seems to have only shown me the true nature of space. Divinity has not answered me—perhaps they care not for a mere mortal, or perhaps they do not see benefit in the discovery of the Reverie of Elysia. Yet science calls to me—yes, I hear the melodies that sing beside me…]

[There is a single word repeated… It seems to be the origin of it all… The mother of Elysia, my Elysia…]

Nevermore.
